SiGMA World 2026 is set to be held in Rome from November 2nd to 5th, attracting 65 regulatory representatives and over 30,000 attendees. The theme is "Advancing Regulated Gaming".
The conference will be held at the Rome Exhibition Center and is expected to have more than 1,200 exhibitors and sponsors, as well as more than 550 speakers. Approximately 851,000 attendees from around the world will participate.
This summit will explore the relationship between market growth, regulation, technological innovation, transparency, and accountability, with experts sharing their insights through panel discussions, roundtable forums, and workshops. Participating organizations include the Gaming Regulation Forum of Africa (GRAF) and the International Institute of Gaming Lawyers (IMGL).
Heathcliff Farrugia, head of international relations at the SiGMA Group, said: "A strong industry is a well-regulated industry."“
The conference agenda will cover important topics such as integrity, compliance, artificial intelligence, and digital finance, and will also focus on international regulatory systems. SiGMA expects the event to generate nearly €100 million in economic benefits for the local area.
The summit will feature five conference stages covering areas such as strategy and regulation, ancillary marketing, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. The Italian pavilion, launched through a collaboration between SiGMA and SAPAR, will discuss Italy's regulatory framework and responsible gaming.
Sergio D'Angelo, SAPAR's National President, emphasized that the industry needs to focus on how to manage technological and regulatory changes. He pointed out, "We shouldn't just observe the changes, but understand how to guide them."“
He added, "A well-regulated and robust market can protect participants, but excessive restrictions will only drive demand toward illicit activities."“
Looking ahead to 2030, D'Angelo called for regulatory stability, emphasizing clarity in regulation and taxation, stating that "regulation should be clear and enforceable."“
Prior to the summit, the Rome City Hall hosted the "Forbes Italy & SiGMA Conference – Vision 2030," which brought together professionals from institutions, industry associations, businesses, academia, and the media to discuss the future of Italy's regulated gaming industry.
The discussion covered topics such as regulatory development, digital transformation, consumer protection, and combating illegal activities. Rome City Councilor Mariano Angelucci stated that the event would foster dialogue on innovation and industry development. He said, "Rome is once again demonstrating its important position on the international stage."“
He further noted, “With SiGMA World, the capital has welcomed thousands of operators and investors, solidifying its position as a global industry leader while strengthening its commitment to meetings, tourism and business.”
During the event at the city hall, the "Forbes Italy Top 50 Regulated Gaming Projects," produced in collaboration with SiGMA World, was also launched.
