A few days ago, Apple was sued by a court in Northern California for listing an illegal gambling software in its App Store and profiting from it. This application on the App Store requires users to purchase game coins with real money for slot machine and other games. The court pointed out that this game is highly addictive and can obtain high profits.
However, although the lawsuit filed by the court is directed at gambling applications, it is actually directed at Apple’s application management system and the 30% commission. The court pointed out that once this kind of application is put on the mobile phone app, it will cause many negative effects on the public, including extremely easy to addiction. According to statistics, in 2020 alone, virtual casinos will make a profit of $6 billion.
The lawsuit also stated that due to California's ban on slot games, this gambling app launched by Apple happens to involve slot gambling games. Therefore, Apple has violated California law. Not only that, the lawsuit also accused Apple of blackmailing users and illegal fundraising.
